Splash was transferred from Marineland, Canada in 1992. A few years ago when he was only 5, he was swimming around one of the holding tanks with Orkid, who was then 6, when his chin got caught on a gate, ripping a large gash from his chin. The scars from this incident are one way to identify him, along with the rest of the rake marks on his body. He also has a large black spot in the middle top of his right eyepatch.
